As an amateur red wine enthusiast, I know the difficulties in making good sense of an exciting choice of Australian reds. Reading MW tasting notes don't exactly help when the recommendation is to drink 5 to 25 years later.
This blog is my journey across a variety of Australian reds, it is hoped friends and other enthusiasts can join me in this forum as passionate, respectful wine snobs.
1997 CHAPEL HILL SHIRAZ MCLAREN VALE
Semi-opaque deep brick red hues, oak and pepper on the nose. Delicate, refined tannins with a subtle hint of chocolate. Although past its peak, still a great McLaren Vale vintage.
