As an amateur red wine enthusiast, I know the difficulties in making good sense of an exciting choice of Australian reds. Reading MW tasting notes don't exactly help when the recommendation is to drink 5 to 25 years later.
This blog is my journey across a variety of Australian reds, it is hoped friends and other enthusiasts can join me in this forum as passionate, respectful wine snobs.
1999 TYRRELLS BROKENBACK SHIRAZ HUNTER VALLEY
Brick brown, plummy nose, peak is well overdue but
drinkable after decanting. Well balance cedar and spice. 5/10 22-6-2012
